…To become a U.S. Air Force Officer
After college graduation, in June of 1959, I took a series of competitive exams tin an attempt to secure an appointment to the U.S.Air Force and receive a direct commission as a USAF Medical Service Officer. I was successful in doing so.
As a result:
I Never did get to see any “Hot Chicks” in the Air Force except for the one who lived at my house, my wife – Pat
Next to marring my wife Pat, volunteering to serve in the USAF was the best decision that I ever made!
Whenever someone thanks me for my service, I answer
“No, don’t thank me for my service,
thank the United States Air Force.
They deserve the thanks.
They taught me to be Independent
and they made me a Man”
